Have you ever reached a point in life where you simply didn't know what to pray for anymore?

Not because you had lost your faith, but because life had become so complicated that you didn't know what to ask Yah to do.

Maybe you're waiting for an answer that hasn't come. Maybe you're facing a decision with no clear direction, or watching something you worked hard for slowly slip away. You want to pray, but you aren't even sure what outcome to hope for.

I think most of us know that feeling. We still believe. We still hope. But we're tired, and the words just aren't there.

That simple, deeply personal experience inspired our newest original song, When I Have No Words.

When Our Words Run Out

Romans 8:26–27 offers remarkable comfort for moments like these. Paul tells us that the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. Sometimes we don't know what we ought to pray for, yet the Spirit intercedes for believers according to Yah's will.

Notice what Paul doesn't say. He doesn't suggest we must find the perfect words, fully understand our circumstances, or figure out the right answer before coming to the Father.

In the surrounding verses, Paul writes about suffering, hope, and waiting for what we cannot yet see. He isn't promising that every difficult situation will quickly resolve itself. He's reminding us that even in weakness, we are not without help.

There's a difference between having no answers and having no hope.

And there's something deeply reassuring about knowing that our confusion doesn't prevent Yah from knowing our hearts.

A Promise We Could Feel Through Music

We wanted to express that comfort in a song people could connect with, even during an ordinary drive home or a quiet moment at the end of a difficult day.

So we chose a contemporary R&B and gospel-soul sound, with a smooth, relaxed groove, a soulful female lead, and a chorus that carries the feeling at the heart of the message. It's meant to be enjoyable music, not a conventional worship ballad.

The song doesn't pretend that faith makes life uncomplicated. We don't always understand Yah's plans, and we don't always receive the answers we hoped for. Sometimes we're left waiting longer than we'd like.

But being uncertain doesn't mean being abandoned. We can still come before Yah, even when our prayers are little more than silence and a longing for His guidance.

Sometimes we have a thousand things to say. Other times, we can barely manage a whisper. And sometimes, when we have no words at all, we discover that we were never required to carry everything alone.

If that feeling is familiar, I invite you to listen to When I Have No Words, our newest original song from Wayne Bodie Books Music, available for $1.99.

May it bring a little peace to your day, and remind you that even when you don't know what to say, Yah knows your heart.
